Letter "Tt" Recognition Craft Projects & Activities

We spend one week reinforcing each letter with crafts and activities after it is introduced.

"T" is for Tree

Paint childs entire hand and part of arm brown for the tree trunk. When dry use a sponge to make green leaves. We used fall colors for these by you could also make them into apple trees, when leaves are dry make red fingerprint apples on the tree.

"Tt" is for Triangle.

Glue triangle shapes cut out of construction paper to the letter.

Other ideas for collaging with letter Tt,
toothpicks,
tissue,
Use stickers (we found these cute teapot stickers) or find things in magazines that start with C.

First-School Letter Tt page

Carl's Corner Letter T - This comes with a sheet to color, cut, and paste to the letter.

Letter T & Triangle Sponge Painting
Invest in some Alphabet and misc. sponges for crafts like this. They are about $2 or $3 per bag at Walmart. Also available from school supply stores. We use ours to make a page like this for every letter we are learning from September through May. Parents are encouraged to take them home and post them where the child can see and practice every day. When we finish the entire alphabet they can make them into a book or put them into a binder.

Group Time Activity

Tic Tac Toe

Invite children to play Tic Tac Toe, using capital T's and lowercase t's rather than X's and O's. You may want to provide children with ready made grids, or you can draw one on the board for them to copy on their own papers.

Triangle Art
Cut lots of different size triangles from colorful tissue paper. Write the words tissue and triangle on the board. Show children that both of these words begin with t, and have them repeat the words with you. Then invite children to use glue(thinned down with water or starch) to "paint" triangles onto large sheets of construction paper. Encourage them to overlap triangles and colors to create unique works.
