Letter "Zz" Recognition Craft Projects We spend one week reinforcing each letter with crafts and activities after it is introduced. First-School Letter Zz page Carl's Corner Letter Z - This comes with a sheet to color, cut, and paste to the letter. Zebra Puppets I printed these on cardstock then the children drew on stripes. Glue them to a craft stick for some fun Zebra galloping to reinforce our letter of the week. Zebra pdf for Puppet (reduce by 20%) Zebra and Z Sponge Painting Invest in some Alphabet and misc. sponges for crafts like this. They are about $2 or $3 per bag at Walmart. Also available from school supply stores. We use ours to make a page like this for every letter we are learning from September through May. Parents are encouraged to take them home and post them where the child can see and practice every day. When we finish the entire alphabet they can make them into a book or put them into a binder. Zebra Puzzle Our students are really into puzzles right now. I printed these on cardstock and added the Letter "Zz" with a sharpie. I laminated them so they will last longer in our classroom but the children took them home without laminating. Zebra pdf for Puzzle Group Time Activity "Zzzzz!" Help children glue together three craft sticks to form the letter Z. Then tell children you will say pairs of words, and they will listen carefully for the "Zzzz" sound. If they hear a z, tell them to hold up their craft stick letter and say "Zzzz". Say word pairs such as zip,sit/cone,zone/bloom, zoom.
